Review: Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette

Okay, so if you haven't heard of Coastal Scents....your life is about to change. I came across this beauty craze on Youtube and I was immediately drawn to it. All the beauty gurus raved about Coastal Scents and how some of the products were comparable to MAC. So, I took it upon myself to see what all the fuss was about and ordered the most popular and raved about products. 1 week later, my shipment came in and I was soo excited! Delivery was pretty fast considering I ordered 2 days before Christmas and everything was well packaged. Anyway, on to the important things. Okay, so let's start with the eyeshadows. I got the '88 Warm' Palette and O my gaaahh! The colors are amazing and sooo pigmented! Very MAC comparable. I'll have to do some swatches for you guys so you can see for yourself. I ordered this palette for my mother and I and it was bliss! We couldn't stop playing with all the beautiful colors. If you like smokey eyes and opt for a more natural look, this is definitely the way to go! The eyeshadow pots are dime size, but with 88 colors to choose from...you can't go wrong. Did I mention it only cost 24.95? Yeah, not too shabby. Just because something is low in price, doesn't mean it's low in qulaity. I love me some MAC and I'm sure you do too, but it can get a little pricey and it doesn't hurt to try some new products. Especially in the 20 dollar range. It's also a great palette if you are just starting your makeup collection. Here is a close up of the colors...

Now, let's move on to a couple of the brushes I ordered! Okay, so I wouldn't necessarily say they are MAC comparible, but they are definitely worth your while! I ordered the Pink Oval Fluff Shadow, Italian Badger Doe Foot Stippler and the Black Deluxe Shadow brush. I'll start off by saying they are extremely soft and pack on great color! If you're on the hunt for some good quality brushes on a budget....check these out! I think I spent less than $10 bucks on 3 brushes and I'll be getting some more for sure! I don't know what it is, but I have an obsession with makeup brushes. I don't even wear a lot of makeup, but my brush set is expanding rapidly! Now, if you're looking for some MAC comparable brushes...stay tuned! I ordered some Sigma Brushes and picked up some Professional Paint brushes by Loew Cornell and you don't want to miss the review on those! They are INCREDIBLE and almost exact replicas of MAC. Again, I love MAC...but it's always fun to save some money and expand your collection. What's the harm in having ome extra brushes on hand? My bestiie is a fab makeup artist and I know she can never get enough shopping for beauty products to add to her collection. Here are some pics of the brushes, courtesy of coastalscents.com

Great for blending your crease line.

Packs on color and catches the intensity of the eyeshadow.

Larger than your usual shadow brush. Best to use for contouring.

New Year. New Beginings.

Happy New Years to all my fellow fashionista's! DulceLuxe is back in full effect and better than ever! 2010 is here and I couldn't be more excited. 2009 was an unpredictable year for me. I ended some chapters and with that, started new ones. Some highlights of my year were the fashion shows, Spike Guys Choice Awards, MTV Movie Awards, Jay-Z in Vegas, Craps in Vegas, styling my first real shoots, getting my new york-esque condo and working in fashion in general. Which brings me to my accomplishments. 2 of my biggest and best accomplishments of 2009 was building up the courage to move out on my own and take on the world of fashion as my career choice. I'm happy and proud of the choices I made in 2009. They opened doors I never even knew existed and I've happily finished the last chapter of 2009 with a smile. I'm closing this book and starting a new one. I'm excited to see what's in store for me. I have a feeling it will involve lots of sequins, diamonds and pearls. We are all capable of big things in 2010...What are you waiting for? Just stick to my usual motto...'Go big or go home' and raise your glasses! This is gonna be a good year....Cheers!

Step your game up!

Bebe 'Liza' pumps

For those of you dolls who have waited patiently for Bebe to re-release their famous 'Liza' pumps...the wait is ovaah! They are back in full effect and I couldn't help but wake up at 6am from all the excitement. For those who know me dearly, they'll tell you I am NO morning person. But I make an exception for 2 things. Fashion & church. Well, it might be 3 considering I have to wake up early for work...but then again, I only work to keep up with my obsessive need to shop for clothes and accessories. So, nevermind. With my work being in fashion...for fashion, my point is made. 2 things. Enough said. Moving on to my absolute adoration for the Bebe 'Liza' pumps. Getting them was MY tribute to the YSL Tribute Double-Platform pump. I walked into Bebe with a mission. Like most of the time I shop of course! Except this time, there was a battle awaiting me. 2 other girls looking for the same shoe, in my size!! Can you imagine my face?! I almost died. Luckily, they didn't know who they were going against. I was like Isla Fischer in Confessions of a Shopoholic. I reached for the shoe before these girls could take their next breath and found my sales girl. "Size 7 please". Long story short...they only had one pair in 7 and guess who got 'em? Me of course! My love for the Bebe pumps came when I found out these babies came with a 5.5" heel and a 1" covered platform. The YSL's fall short with their heel measuring at only 4 1/10". I tried them on and it was perfection! I sent my mom a quick text to share my excitement. She's my fashion icon and the only one who would REALLY understand. After all, she's the woman behind my obsession with fashion.
